All paddle enthusiasts invited!

Shore Trading Company owners Jim and Janet Dooley are coordinating
the 2nd Annual Big Bear Paddlefest,
to be held
on the northern shore of Big Bear Lake, July 11-12, 2009. The
weekend event is designed for those “serious paddle enthusiasts
as well as those new to the sports of canoeing and kayaking,” according
to Ms. Dooley.
Pre-race-day activities on Saturday will include on-water
clinics for beginner and advanced paddlers, taught by local
kayak instructors, as well as boat demos and an outdoor-industry
sports exhibit.
Races
are scheduled to begin and finish at Captain John’s
Fawn Harbor Marina, in Grout Bay, through an out and back route
to the Big Bear Lake dam, inside the 5-mile buoy markets.
Prizes will be raffled from Big Bear businesses on Sunday,
as well as a brand new Emotion Glider Kayak, donated by Woolrich.
